(1725〜1770)
He was an ukiyoe artist in the middle of the Edo period. His Bijinga (a type of Ukiyoe portraying beautiful women) with slim, pretty and delicate expressions gained popularity and greatly influenced the development of later Ukiyoe.
Harunobu SUZUKI's portrayals of beautiful women are generally of small build with thin arms and legs and use neutral colors mixed with whitewash, and their lyricism becomes even fantastic. His representative works include the series of "Furyu Shikikasen" "Eight Views of Zashiki" "Furyu Yatsushi Nanakomachi" and "Fuzoku Mutamagawa" as well as Osen KASAMORI and so on.
This is a digital reproduction of Harunobu Suzuki's work.
